Haiku 4

Jet sounds, stomach growls,

simultaneous events—

who owns which sound?  Why?

Cartwheels in ruins,

young girls play, old ruins,  green grass:

monk ghosts watch, approve.

Glory of God ruins

Enjoy your work while you work

what goes up, comes down

Churches turned to bars,

gaming dens, day care, thrift stores…

where might we learn love?

Church bells sunday eve,

train from London rackets past…

one last garden sit.

Pink rose petal falls —

brown trellis  backed by grey sky—

white  seagull flies by.

Names of those who died

in battle in World War One—

every church : long lists

Time traveling monk:

young artist who’s  home this is:

life brings us new life.
